Excursion on the Pacific Coast: Quintay - Isla Negra
Is there much to see outside the city of Valparaiso? Yes there is a lot. Who doesn't want to visit a picturesque fishing village on the Pacific coast. This small village entwines itself around a coastal cliff. In the past it was a busy whale hunting community but has now evolved into a fishin focused on artisanal fishing and sustainable shell fish farming. These can be tasted at the local fish restaurants there.
The village Isla Negra further south became in an international attraction at the Pacific coast, because of the famous house of the poet and nobel prize winner Pablo Neruda.
It is also a lovely drive between the fishing village and Isla Negra best enjoyed with a local who knows the route.
